Ngoài việc trồng cây xanh làm mát dịu các tầng nhà, người thiết kế ngôi nhà ở quận Hai Bà Trưng (Hà Nội) làm thành khu vườn nhỏ trồng cây trên mái cho gia đình. Len lỏi giữa vườn là lối đi xếp gạch, giúp chủ nhà có thể dễ dàng tới từng góc để tưới nước, chăm sóc cho cây.

Công trình ở quận Cầu Giấy (Hà Nội) gồm khối nhà 5 tầng phía sau và khối phía trước chỉ được xây một tầng. Kiến trúc sư biến phần mái của phần nhà phía trước thành mảng sân vườn trồng cây cỏ.
