Mặt sau nhà tiếp giáp với đường lớn lại phải nhận nắng hướng Tây, gió Bắc. Bởi vậy, KTS Hồ Khuê cùng nhóm thiết kế Huỳnh Thanh Hải, Huỳnh Văn Khanh (ALPES Green Design & Build) đưa ra giải pháp bao che công trình bằng gạch lỗ có cấu tạo ngăn mưa tạt.
Giải pháp này đảm bảo công trình bớt nắng gắt, bụi bặm, được chiếu sáng tự nhiên và khô ráo.
Ngôi nhà nằm trên một khu đất có chiều ngang hẹp (4m) và dài gần 40m, bị gãy khúc ở giữa. Để đảm bảo chiếu sáng và thông thoáng tự nhiên cho nhà ống quá dài, kiến trúc sư thiết kế nhà thành hai khối kết nối bởi vườn cây xanh chính ở khu vực gãy khúc.
Những cây cầu nối giữa hai khối nhà cũng được phủ cây xanh, đem lại cảm giác thư thái cho các thành viên khi đi lại trong nhà.
Nơi đây trở thành họng thông gió giúp nhà luôn có nhiều ánh sáng tự nhiên và mát mẻ hơn.
Phần vườn cây, giếng trời không có mái che để chủ nhà có thể gần gũi với cây xanh, cảm nhận sự thay đổi thời tiết qua tác động của mưa nắng.
Trước khi xây nơi ở mới, chủ nhà chia sẻ, họ mong muốn thoát khỏi cảnh sống trong nhà phố bụi bẩn, ẩm thấp.
Ngôi nhà hoàn thành đúng như ước nguyện của gia chủ về một không gian sống hiện đại, nhẹ nhàng trong ngôi nhà nhìn đâu cũng thấy màu xanh. Những người thiết kế đã đặt tên cho ngôi nhà là “Vườn trong phố”.
Ở tầng 3, phòng ngủ của bố mẹ và phòng sinh hoạt chung được kết nối bởi một khu vườn nhỏ xinh xắn.
Công trình còn sử dụng vật liệu thân thiện môi trường như gạch không nung, tấm bê tông tự sản xuất…
Chủ nhà cũng lên kế hoạch biến tầng 4 thành một vườn trên cao với cây cao, thảm cỏ xanh mướt và trồng rau sạch phục vụ nhu cầu hàng ngày.
